Jess Alvarez recognised with an Australia Day Award
Date: 2017-02-04
Our founder and President, Jess Alvarez, was recently nominated for an Australia Day award. She was presented the award on Australia Day by Federal MP Jenny Macklin. Her dedication and volunteerism in starting our organisation from scratch, and helping needy communities in Kenya was praised, as well as her involvement in local Melbourne schools - doing talks and motivating students to fundraise for our cause.
Jess has given her time and energy to Positive Aids projects for the last ten years, and thanks to her efforts the organisation has helped bring basic health care to thousands of women, men and children in remote villages.
We congratulate Jess on her award and wish her continued success and fulfilment in the activities she undertakes for Kenya.
