Mothers group plan
Date: 2014-04-27
The clubs we‘ve started for pregnant women have empowered so many. As babies are born there is need for mothers to remain connected and supported...
Within the last twelve months Positive Aid has supported the establishment and running of ten new clubs for pregnant women in Uranga, Kenya. These have proven really effective, with hundreds of women enrolling as members and accessing information, attending antenatal clinics and giving birth safely through the initiative. We are now planning together with our local partner in Kenya to start mothers groups for those members who have already given birth, so that new mothers don‘t drop off the radar but are able to stay connected with support services and keep learning how to care for their children. This is important for their young kids so that they grow and get the best start to life as their first months and years are so vital for healthy development.
